Rule out the fuel system first

Before condemning an injector, clear the fuel system — otherwise you replace a healthy part.

  1. Rail pressure. Rail Pressure Actual below spec at idle points at the pump, not the injectors. A drop of more than 50 bar within 10 minutes after shutdown means an injector is leaking into the cylinder.
  2. Fuel filter. A clogged filter drops rail pressure, then throws P0087 followed by P026x — across all cylinders at once. If the codes disappear after a filter change, the injectors were never at fault.
  3. High-pressure pump (CP3/CP4). A Rail Pressure Setpoint vs Actual gap above 30 bar under load means the pump cannot keep up, and P026x will show on every cylinder.
