Ford Focus and Mondeo are among the most popular Fords in Europe. Focus III/IV with 1.0/1.5/2.0 EcoBoost and Mondeo V with 2.0 EcoBoost have specific issues related to turbocharging and direct injection. The TDCi diesel also has well-documented characteristic problems.
EcoBoost 1.0 3-cylinder (Focus III/IV, Mondeo V): Small Engine Specifics
P0302 / P0303 — Misfires in Cylinder 2 or 3
EcoBoost 1.0 specifics:
- Due to the 3-cylinder layout, cylinder head cooling is uneven → head gasket wears unevenly
