BMW — ISTA

  1. Connect ENET cable + ISTA (BMW diagnostic)
  2. Vehicle Management → DDE (Diesel Digital Electronics)
  3. Service Functions → Regeneration → Force Regeneration
  4. Confirm: without interruption, driver at wheel (for auto RPM control)
  5. ISTA runs the process automatically 30-40 min

Mercedes — Xentry

  1. Connect Xentry Passthru or dealer scanner
  2. Diagnostics → Engine (CDI) → Actuations

What NOT to do

  • Don’t interrupt regen — deposits stay half-burnt in honeycomb, next regen will be harder
  • Don’t run at soot > 45 g — ceramic melt risk
  • Don’t run below 5°C ambient — EGT may not reach 650°C
  • Don’t run in a garage — 650°C exhaust ignites dust and oil spills

What Car Diagnostics does
