VIN
Vehicle Identification Number — unique vehicle identifier.
A VIN is a 17-character code that uniquely identifies a vehicle. The first 3 characters (WMI) identify the manufacturer, 4-9 encode model characteristics, position 10 is the model year, 11 is the plant, and 12-17 form the serial number. The VIN is read via Mode 09, InfoType 02.
