Limp mode

Limp mode is a safeguard mode where the ECU restricts RPM, boost or gear selection when a critical fault is detected (overheat, over-boost, sensor failure). The purpose is to save the engine until a workshop visit. In 90% of cases clearing DTCs won't help — you must fix the root cause.
